Payroll Supervisor

KenCrest is seeking a payroll supervisor, primarily responsible for the oversight and management of processing the weekly and biweekly payroll of approximately 2,000 employees, in 3 states, and multiple corporations. In addition, the payroll supervisor is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the employee payroll files and supervision of 2 staff.

  • Oversight and management of bi-weekly and weekly payroll process, including creation of pay sheets and importing hours from Kronos and ISS.
  • Calculation/confirmation of weekly payroll and error review and troubleshooting.
  • Running of Direct Deposit files for the Information Technology Department (IT) to send to bank.
  • Running & distribution of deduction reports and Accounts Payable extract.
  • Processing of manual checks as needed within appropriate guidelines & procedures.
  • Data entry of Benefit enrollment information, including Health, Dental, 403b, Life, & AD&D.
  • Calculations of retro wages associated with PCN’s, for review and approval of Payroll Manager.
  • Generation, maintenance, and updating of payroll reports needed out of PeopleSoft.
  • Preparation of garnishment vouchers for Accounts Payable.
  • Participation in the New Hire Orientation.
  • Customer Service regarding employee payroll issues.
  • Monitoring completion of task and processes of the Payroll clerk and Payroll Specialist.
  • Completion of annual talent reservoir evaluation for staff.
  • Participation in periodic PeopleSoft HR Payroll ERP system (PS) Tax Patches, Bundles, and upgrade application and testing and other project teams as needed.
  • Provide support and expertise to Directors, Managers, & Supervisors.
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating of agency payroll procedures and guidelines.
  • Availability to work extra hours as needed.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field plus three years Payroll experience or five years of Payroll related experience with supervision, and increasing Payroll related responsibilities.
  • Experience with financial applications preferred, specifically PeopleSoft and/or Kronos.
  • Prior Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel, and general knowledge of financial applications/systems.
  • Excellent data entry skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact well with other staff and handle confidential information.
  • Conscientious and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently as well as participate as a strong team player.
  • Occassional travel to other locations is required. (CT, DE offices)
