Lifestyle Specialist

KenCrest Services is embarking on a new innovative residential model for young adults with intellectual developmental disabilities after they turn 21 years of age.  This unique life-sharing model offers a home for young adults with disabilities and is supervised by 'live-in' support professionals and coworkers.  We believe that this type of 24/7 living arrangement promotes greater continuity of care while also creating a richer and more meaningful life for everyone.

We are currently seeking a Lifestyle Specialist who is committed to helping guide young adults with different disabilities into the adult world and assist them in reaching their full potential both at the home/fairm located in Kimberton and also in their surrounding community and who are amenable to a live-in arrangement.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates and ensures all required needs and services are available for supported individuals in the program
  • Acts as an advocate for the individuals and a position of support for all program/specialized services
  • Complete all required reports, assessments and paperwork for the 6400 regulations and PA 51
  • Conduct in coordination with nurse, initial and ongoing and follow up training for new hires as required
  • Act as a role model for Senior Coworker and Coworkers in all outcomes, behavior plans and basic functional job skills
  • Assist individuals, when needed, with household management, including shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry and all other household chores
  • Transport individuals to appointments, jobs, day programs and other community outings
  • Assist individuals in making informed choices, trying new experiences, developing relationships and empowering them to make their own decisions and maintaining their rights

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
  • Clear Criminal record background check in accordance with state requirements
  • Ability to pass all required trainings, including CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration
  • Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions in English
