Director of Facilities Management

This position is responsible for oversight and supervision of a team of Support, Maintenance and Property Management staff for over 200 facilities across KenCrest (PA, CT, and DE).

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective lines of communication between Facilities Management, Finance, Operations, Development and Fiscal
  • Supervise facility management employees to obtain optimal productivity and morale.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key subcontractors
  • Allocate organizational resources to optimize use of staff and contractors
  • Assists with training of new personnel; develops in-service training for maintenance employees
  • Manage and reduce operational costs
  • Responsibly manage both the direct Facility Management budget and operations budgets related to facility costs.
  • Ensure facilities are in conformity with licensing regulations and operational staff expectations
  • Develop flexible resources that are available in times of critical need
  • Maintain a system of customer feedback and use the information for decision making
  • Maintain system of KPIs for Department and Agency facilities
  • Lead the annual and long-term facility business and capital planning process
  • Actively participate in the Operational Business Planning Meetings
  • Develop formalize criteria and system for making sound financial decisions
  • Ensure Facility Management staff have the resources that are needed to deliver excellent service
  • Work with operational staff to develop and execute facility plans that are in alignment with organizational plans
  • Develop properly fitted space and facility services when and where it is needed
  • Develop sources for rental properties
  • Lead search for new properties and disposition of properties that are no longer needed
  • Manage all energy contracts
  • Administer all lease agreements
  • Ensure the work order system is functioning well and requests are being completed in a timely manner
  • Represent Facilities Management on Coordinating Council
  • Develop funding strategies for capital plan along with Operational, Fiscal and Development Departments
  • Conduct staff evaluations and develop performance improvement plans as needed
  • Ensure all property inspections are completed in a timely manner


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management
  • Project management experience
  • Extensive experience with computerized financial and facilities management systems
