Direct Support Professional - Coworkers

KenCrest Services is embarking on a new innovative residential model for young adults with intellectual developmental disabilities after they turn 21 years of age.

This unique life-sharing model offers a home for young adults with disabilities and is supervised by “live-in” support professionals and coworkers.  We believe that this type of 24/7 living arrangement promotes greater continuity of care while also creating a richer and more meaningful life for everyone.

We are currently seeking two self-motivated coworkers who are committed to helping guide young adults with different disabilities into the adult world and assist them in reaching their full potential both at the home/farm located in Kimberton and also in their surrounding community and who are amenable to a live-in arrangement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist individuals, when needed, with household management, including shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry and all other household chores.

  • Assist, guide, support and perform as necessary, with activities of daily living.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of health for the individuals including monitoring for signs and symptoms of illness, emotional or behavioral concerns. Administer medications accurately and in accordance with medical and/or behavioral protocols.

  • Transport individuals to appointments, jobs, day programs and other community outings

  • Complete forms and reports as directed by the support professionals.This includes ensuring medical visit forms, medical data and behavioral data forms are correctly maintained.

  • Assist individuals in making informed choices, trying new experiences, developing relationships and empowering them to make their own decisions and maintaining their rights.


    Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Clear criminal record background check in accordance with state requirements

  • Ability to pass all required trainings, including CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration

  • Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions in English.
