Job Description



Director of Connecticut Residential and Day Services

The Director of Residential and Day Services is responsible for the development and overall operation of KenCrest's Residential and Day supports and services in Connecticut.  Emphasis is on the administration, coordination and integration of all available resources to insure high quality services, supports and treatment.  Work is performed with considerable independence under the auspices of KenCrest's main office in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure staff and individual consumer records, ISPs, assessments, quarterly reviews, monthly reports, consultant reports and fire safety records are maintained in accordance with state and federal regulations, OSHA standards and KenCrest’s policies.

  • Develop service area policies and procedures in conjunction with Vice President of Community Living.

  • Ensure the timely evaluation and re-evaluation of services and supports using internal and external assessment mechanisms.

  • Direct supervision of Assistant Director and where appropriate, Project Directors/Program Coordinators and program staff to ensure individual consumers, families and friends are treated in a manner which reflects KenCrest’s Mission and Core Values.

  • Provide oversight and implementation procedures to ensure abuse and/or neglect investigations are conducted and completed (within 60 days) with the highest degree of integrity.

  • Provide oversight and supervision to ensure:

    • Team meetings are conducted in a timely manner; required program and financial plans are developed for each person
    • The safety of individuals and staff through trainings, monitoring and implementation of safety procedures
    • Consumers obtain quality health care
    • Consumers are guided and assisted, if necessary, in proper use of civil legal rights
    • Individual’s entitlement benefits and state and federal funding are initially applied for and properly maintained
    • Individuals with psychiatric needs attend their 90 day psychiatric reviews.  
    • CT fiscal staff ensures proper billing of services and supports, lowest possible overtime usage, and proper utilization of authorized resources and staffing.    
  • Attend and participate in manager/leadership meetings, agency workgroups and monthly visits to Blue Bell, Pennsylvania office

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, required

  • Master’s degree in Human Services or related field, preferred

  • Minimum of  7 to 10 years of related work experience in IDD environment
  • Working knowledge of the related Connecticut state and federal regulars and requirements
  • Ability to pass all required training, including CPR and First Aid
  • Clear criminal record and background checks in accordance with state requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to convey, understand and follow spoken and written instructions in English
