Job Description

Community Connection Coach (a unique DSP position)- Personal Support Network

Use the power of human connection to build a better community.

Everyone should have the opportunity to participate and experience the best quality of life through community involvement. At KenCrest, we are a passionate team of empowerment agents who see the person first and not the disability. We work to help the people that need our support and guidance to develop and interact as valuable members of the community. We do this by building productive social and professional relationships and by teaching the people we serve how to exercise their power of choice

KenCrest believes the value of the individual’s contribution to the community is essential, and we can all learn more about ourselves by learning more about each other. At KenCrest you will learn a lot about yourself while serving others and you will grow personally by helping us create a more compassionate and inclusive world.

If you have a passion for seeking to understand what is meaningful to individuals, regardless of the challenges they might have, joining our team will allow you to shape a community where everyone is included.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Community Connection Coach (a unique DSP position), you will be part of our Personal Support Network where we provide support services to individuals who live in the community or with their families. This means that you will have the unique opportunity to celebrate with people when they accomplish even the smallest things in life that we all sometimes take for granted. You are a steward that will open people’s eyes to the possibilities and help our members accomplish things when others think they can’t. You will be able to serve as both caregiver and life coach creating opportunities and promoting individuality, inclusion and independence to those you support in areas such as activities of daily living, socialization and seeking out opportunities to and participate in their communities.

“The person we are looking for is creative and willing to learn. You have to be willing to think outside the box. Finding the best solution isn’t always about what is prescribed, but instead about what’s best for the individuals and families we support. This may start out as a job, but this is more than a job. This is making an investment in people and building genuine friendships.” ~ Angela Marshall, Director

If you like to be out in the community and explore how you can empower those we support to achieve what they didn’t think was possible; this may be the right job for you!
